Ever since a kind and generous friend gave me one of these Thomas Kinkade Engagement Calendars a few years ago, I have been addicted to them. I use it several times each day for a multitude of reasons...appointments, addresses, writing down the important events of the day, a brief sketch of what I dreamed the night before, and more. The layout of this lovely volume has space for everything. It has 17 pages blank for notes in the back, as well as an address section, birthdays and anniversaries, and 2 pages for planning in the year ahead (2015).It has a pocket inside the front and back cover, as well as a ruler that clips on to the wire bound central "spine" of the book. As much as I use this calendar I can guarantee that it is very sturdy. The pages are thick and so even the darkest ink won't show through the opposite side, there is a full page calendar of 2014 in the front, as well as half pages for 2013 and 2015. You get nearly an inch of space per day on the monthly engagement section to write in, and there is usually ample space at the end of each month for added writing (that's where I put my dreams!) .There are beautiful scriptures written throughout (KJV translation) and of course, there is Kinkade's art. Most of the months are of his famous cottages, but my favorite is a New York City street scene for the month of July. It's a spectacular piece. It's also fun to see if one can find the "N" in the paintings, for Kinkade's wife Nanette. The reproductions are details of the paintings, so I'm sure we are missing some "N"s, but the cover painting, of a "Main Street, USA" type of location has a store called Nanette on the back cover section. There are also references to his children Merritt, Chandler, Winsor and Everett. This engagement calendar is a daily joy and a silent friend, and by December 31, it is still in great shape, and almost every inch of space has been filled with a year of memories. I love this engagement calendar.
